The Spiritual and New Age movement is a very new ideology which has gracefully intervened into modern society as this foreign off shoot of ideas often full of mystical ideas and practices. It is misunderstood often by the mainstream as cultish and full of lazy yogis and whack jobs. We know it is not really like that, it's vast and complex full of amazing and interesting people. In today’s clarity blog, I will inform you of the influences, origins and the purpose of the spiritual and new age movement, that it is neither threatening nor cultish.

Spirituality has been around since the dawn of human thought; it is the questioning of what more there is in this universe. It has taken form in religions, organized group where they attach themselves to one specific possibility and truth on God and the origin of the universe. Yet in modern times, with the development of scientific ideas, and greater understanding on the universe around us religion is not as necessary. It is all about seeking what best suits an individual, developing tolerance to offers personal views and creating a belief system which encourages us to truly understand our own nature and origin. This means destroying out dated beliefs such as ‘an eye for an eye’ which eventually throughout history the view has cause more pain, hatred and war then good. And beginning to stray away from the restricting confounds of religion.

The spiritual and new age movement offers all we need, there is no specific way to practice. No clear spiritual leader, teacher or form to follow. Allowing that sense of personal freedom of beliefs to fit it around what best fits ourselves. It allows practical people acknowledge there is far more to reality than just the physical, there’s more to life than just survival we can now thrive. And connect with what’s above and beyond ourselves, the commonality of being human to encourage world peace.
A philosopher name Emma Curtis, became a new thought leader and shared pioneering ideas of a new way of thought. Offer thought leaders joined into this new thought, including occult leaders, until Deepak Chopra and several academics and channels began creating books and sharing over worldly ideas. This momentum of thought grow, it started to incorporate itself with Buddhist gurus who spoke of yoga practices, reincarnation. Mediums and channels shared information beyond the grave and earth. This formed the modern new age and spiritual movements, as more and more people are awakening to this vast knowledge new ideas are being shared.
We can pick and choose what best works for us as an individual, and opening up to new beliefs. It is so unlike a religion because there is no way of organizing the knowledge, there are so many contrasting interpretations out there that it cannot possible resemble religion. The movement is far more concerned with personal and cultural development and sharing, not power.
