We all have mental health, like we all have physical health. Our mental health changes all the time, maybe it’s good some days and offer day its poor and bad. Just like our physical body’s, having a bad day mentally is like have a cold or an aching muscle. When someone suffers from a mental health problem or illness, they are suffering and feeling pain. Like a physical illness or broken body part, it requires time and treatment in order for it to heal and get back to unusual. Sometimes it’s months and often its years, yet at some point it will recover. A mental illness needs to be treated like a physical illness. Brain scans have proven that the mind reacts to emotional brain as it wold physical brain, the same areas of the brain which activate when feeling pain also activate when a person is feeling emotional pain. In today’s clarity blog, lets enlighten you on mental health, whether your experiencing metal health problems, a close person to you or to just educate yourself more.

A clear fact about mental health is that 1/10 young people are currently experiencing some form of mental health problem. While 1/ 4 adults in their lifetime will have suffered from some form of mental illness. There are wide variety of issues, ranging from psychosis onto Anxiety and depression Each with their own symptoms. This is one of the biggest health phonemes out there. This is an epidemic the size of cancer, and yet it is discussed yet very isolated. People find it hard to recognise the symptoms, find available help near them. I can guarantee that in less than 10 miles there must at least be some a hospital, general/doctors practice or any form of medical practice near. Yet finding a psychiatrist or just a person to talk to is hard, and expensive for professional help. So much like the broken bone or illness analogy, how is that mentally ill person able to recover at all.

This is when the entire community steps in, find support and helps to battle mental illness. Wither that’s just communicating to someone, and opening up about your feelings. Or be that person that is giving the support. It starts by just sitting and being present. Saying how you feel, in any way you like. Writing, talking, drawing. By doing this it can improve a person’s life, and cause change mentally and emotionally. One piece of advice when dealing with a mentally unstable person is to try not to change them, don’t tell them that by doing something different will help them. Or forcing them to see the world more positively. Because that’s only going to cause that person to feel worse. Instead suggest them stuff and encourage change in them and create a better environment.

Some may say that your mind is like a sky. And emotions and thoughts are all just clouds passing by. When someone is suffering from a mental illness, sometimes it’s there, sometimes it goes. Some days it comes back or get worse. But like clouds it will always pass. Which for some this mentality is not strictly true, often it remains. And mental illness can leave permanent scars. Mental health issues such as quite a lot of people, and is often caused by events taking place in their lives or genetics
